What is MarketLeap?
MarketLeap, based in Luxembourg, calls itself a marketplace accelerator and ecommerce enabler; its founders describe themselves as former Amazon and Rocket Internet executives. Everything below comes from its public website as read on 24 September 2026, not from inside knowledge.
Per its FAQ, MarketLeap purchases your stock at a wholesale price agreed up front, then sells it through its own seller accounts on Amazon, Walmart, Bol.com, OTTO, TikTok Shop, Temu and other marketplaces. As importer and merchant of record, it says it handles and pays for VAT registration, customs, certifications such as CE, WEEE and battery rules, and label localisation. It funds all ad spend from its own margin.
Commercially, it says there is no retainer, revenue share or setup fee; its income is the spread between wholesale and retail. Brands ship stock to its partner warehouses, are paid every two weeks, and track sales, pricing, ads and reviews in its MarketLeap Central dashboard. Contracts run on a rolling 30-day basis, and ending one takes 30 days' notice. Its FAQ quotes four to eight weeks to first sales; its how-it-works page says launch takes four to six weeks. Its homepage cites distribution across 30+ countries.
How is Ecomsellertool different?
Ecomsellertool is not a reseller: we never buy your stock or sell under our own accounts. We deploy Ecomsellertool Growth OS on your seller accounts, build the custom software and AI agents your operation needs on top, and hand it over. You stay the seller of record, set your prices and keep the retail revenue, and you carry the ad spend, fees, stock and tax registrations.
Growth OS connects through official marketplace APIs and approved integrations. On Amazon that is SP-API, where the selling partner authorizes each application to access its account. The base system covers listings, catalog and pricing sync, orders and shipping, inventory and replenishment, warehouse and 3PL operations, margin-aware advertising, FBA reimbursements, reviews and reporting.
In short, MarketLeap answers "who can sell this for us in markets we don't want to run?" Ecomsellertool answers "how do we run more markets ourselves without adding headcount?"
Who owns the account, the listings and the data?
With MarketLeap, the selling accounts are MarketLeap's. You get visibility through MarketLeap Central, but the offers, the account health and the selling history sit with the operator. If you leave, staying in those markets means opening your own accounts or appointing another seller. MarketLeap's public FAQ does not say how listings, content and remaining stock are handled at exit, so ask before you sign.
Your trademark is a separate matter. Amazon says the Brand Registry application must come from the trademark owner, and a brand can enroll without selling on Amazon. Without a selling account, tools such as Report a Violation still work, but A+ Content and Stores do not. MarketLeap's FAQ lists brand registry among the costs it covers, so confirm who manages your Brand Registry account and who keeps access if you leave.
With Ecomsellertool, the accounts were always yours. Growth OS runs on them and your data stays in your systems. Custom modules we build for you are yours; the base is licensed to you, with terms on request. If you stop working with us, your listings and selling history stay put.
What do you give up and gain with each model?
A wholesale model trades margin for capital and risk. You sell at wholesale and MarketLeap keeps the spread to retail; in return it carries ad spend, compliance cost and the work of running each market. For a brand without the cash or appetite to register for VAT, localise labels and fund ads in a new country, that trade can make sense.
Selling on your own accounts trades capital and effort for control and margin. You pay for ads and fees, hold the tax registrations and manage stock across channels. In the EU, the One Stop Shop has let sellers declare VAT on cross-border B2C distance sales through one member state's portal since 1 July 2021. Where your stock sits still shapes your local obligations, so take tax advice. The Germany guide works through one market.
| Your situation | Better fit |
|---|---|
| You want to test a new country with no upfront fees, local registrations or local team (you still ship the stock) | MarketLeap-style wholesale |
| You already sell on several marketplaces and ops work grows with every channel | Ecomsellertool Growth OS |
| Retail margin and pricing control are central to your plan | Ecomsellertool Growth OS |
| You want the accounts and data to stay with the company, and to own the custom work | Ecomsellertool Growth OS |
How does Growth OS make selling on your own accounts workable?
The usual objection to selling in your own name on many marketplaces is headcount: every channel adds listings, stock to split, orders to route and ad budgets to watch. Growth OS is built to carry that load:
- One catalog pushes listings, prices and stock to the marketplaces you sell on, with per-channel rules, so a new channel starts from the catalog you already keep once its seller account is approved.
- Replenishment and inventory-aware ad spend stop ads from pushing SKUs that are about to run out.
- Orders from every channel route to your own warehouse, your 3PL or Amazon Multi-Channel Fulfillment, and 3PL, FBA and catalog stock counts are reconciled daily, with variances flagged.
- Reporting shows a live P&L by order, SKU, channel and country, after fees and ad cost.
These pieces come from systems we have already shipped. Seller7 is a multi-marketplace seller OS used by 700+ sellers across 20+ marketplaces. Ecom Global runs a catalog built for 100M+ products, with 20+ marketplaces and 13+ carriers. We have built on Amazon's seller APIs since 2017.
Where should you start?
If running more channels feels like too much work, find out where it leaks before handing it off. The Ops Gap Diagnostic starts with a free Quick Scan that finds your top three Amazon operations gaps from five reports you upload; the paid Deep Diagnostic covers every channel you sell on. Frequently asked questions
What is MarketLeap?
MarketLeap is a Luxembourg-based marketplace accelerator. Per its website, it buys brands' products at an agreed wholesale price and resells them under its own accounts on marketplaces such as Amazon, Walmart, Bol.com, OTTO and TikTok Shop, acting as importer and merchant of record.
How does MarketLeap make money?
Its income is the gap between the per-unit price it pays the brand and the retail price shoppers pay. Its FAQ says there is no retainer, no revenue share and no setup fee, and ad spend is paid out of that gap.
Is MarketLeap an agency?
Not by its own account. Its FAQ calls it "a wholesale distributor and marketplace operator, not an agency", selling under its own accounts. Ecomsellertool is a tech agency that builds a system on your accounts and hands it over; it never buys or resells your products.
Who owns the marketplace account if I work with MarketLeap?
MarketLeap sells under its own accounts, so the account and its selling history are MarketLeap's; you get visibility through its MarketLeap Central dashboard. Amazon only takes Brand Registry applications from the trademark owner, but MarketLeap's FAQ lists brand registry among the costs it covers, so confirm who manages your Brand Registry account and who keeps access if you leave.
Can I use Ecomsellertool and MarketLeap at the same time?
Often, if you split by market. Check MarketLeap's contract for market or channel exclusivity first, since its public FAQ does not cover it. Then run core markets on your own accounts with Growth OS and let the distributor cover markets you do not plan to staff.
Is there a lock-in with either option?
MarketLeap says its contracts run on a rolling 30-day basis and can be ended on 30 days' notice. Growth OS runs on your accounts: custom modules built for you are yours, and the base is licensed to you, with terms on request. Your listings stay on your own accounts throughout, so there is nothing to move.
