Automation library

Ecommerce automation library: workflows you can automate

Short answer

This library has one page per ecommerce workflow you can automate, written as a build spec. Each recipe names what starts the workflow, maps every step to a fixed rule, an AI model or a person, lists the tools that fit, from your platform’s own automation to custom code, and says what stays with your team. Each one ends with a form to get it built.

The automation register

WorkflowWhat starts itSystems it connectsWho runs the stepsBuild size
B2B order entry from emailA buyer emails a purchase order to your orders inbox, as text in the email, a PDF or a spreadsheet.
  • Orders inbox (Gmail or Outlook)
  • Shopify B2B and draft orders
  • NetSuite or another ERP
  • Buyer price lists
  • Item-number cross-reference
  • 5 rule steps
  • 1 AI model step
  • 1 person step
Medium. One inbox and one order system; most of the work is the item cross-reference and the exception queue, not the reading.
Payouts to QuickBooks or XeroA marketplace payout posts: an Amazon settlement report, a Shopify Payments payout or a Walmart reconciliation report.
  • Amazon Seller Central
  • Shopify Payments
  • Walmart Marketplace
  • QuickBooks Online
  • Xero
  • Your bank feed
  • 6 rule steps
  • 1 AI model step
  • 1 person step
Medium. Reading the reports is routine; the work is the account map for each channel and the checks that catch a payout that does not tie out.
Low-stock alerts and draft POsA daily schedule after your stock syncs, plus an instant alert when a Shopify variant's stock changes and falls below its reorder point.
  • Shopify inventory
  • Amazon FBA (Selling Partner API)
  • 3PL inventory feed
  • Supplier settings: lead times, case packs, minimums
  • QuickBooks Online, Xero or an ERP
  • Slack or email
  • 6 rule steps
  • 1 AI model step
  • 1 person step
Medium. The math is simple; the work is one trustworthy stock position across channels and clean supplier settings for every SKU.
Support-ticket triage with AIA customer message arrives: an email to your support address, a chat, or a contact-form submission that becomes a ticket in your helpdesk.
  • Helpdesk: Gorgias, Zendesk or Shopify Inbox
  • Support email inbox
  • Shopify orders and fulfillments
  • Carrier tracking
  • 3PL or warehouse system
  • Reply templates and store policies
  • Slack or email for escalations
  • 5 rule steps
  • 2 AI model steps
  • 1 person step
Medium. The model step is small; the work is matching tickets to orders, the reply templates and a send gate your team trusts.
Daily sales report to SlackA daily schedule, for example 8:00 a.m. in the reporting time zone, after yesterday has closed in every source.
  • Shopify (Admin API, ShopifyQL)
  • Amazon SP-API: Sales, Finances, FBA Inventory
  • Amazon Ads API
  • Other ad accounts (optional)
  • Warehouse or 3PL stock feed
  • Slack incoming webhook or email
  • 6 rule steps
  • 1 AI model step
  • 1 person step
Medium. Pulling the numbers is quick; agreeing one definition, one time zone and one cut-off per metric is the real work.

How do you read an automation recipe?

Each recipe starts with its trigger, the event that starts a run: an email arriving, a payout landing, a stock level falling. Then comes the step map, every step in order, each marked Rule, AI model or Person. A rule is fixed logic you approve, for example "match the buyer's item number to one of your SKUs". An AI model handles input that rules cannot read reliably, such as a PDF purchase order or a free-text email, and rules check its output before anything is written to your systems. A person makes the calls that commit money or speak for your brand.

Which tool should run an automation?

Every recipe works through the same levels and stops at the first one that fits: the automation your platform already includes, then a workflow tool such as Zapier, Make or n8n, then custom code on your own accounts, with an AI model only for the steps that need judgment on messy input. Our workflow automation service page compares the levels and how each tool prices its usage. When custom code is the right answer, it can run on Ecomsellertool Growth OS, so one workflow does not need its own servers.

What stays with a person?

Anything that commits money, changes what a customer pays or speaks for your brand: approving an order with an unusual price, posting to your books, raising a dispute, replying to a customer. Each recipe lists these checkpoints and the evidence the workflow hands to the person who decides. Software that runs on rules alone is rule-based automation, and we call it that; when a workflow needs a model making decisions across many steps, the AI agents pages cover it.

How do you get a recipe built for your business?

Send the workflow in a project brief, or use the form at the end of any recipe. A person on our team replies within 2 business days with a written plan: what to automate, which tool fits, what stays with your team, the timeline and a fixed price. If you are not sure which workflow costs you most, the operations gaps pages describe the common leaks, and the free 24-hour diagnostic finds them in an Amazon account.

Frequently asked questions

What is an ecommerce automation recipe?

A written build spec for one workflow: what starts it, each step in order with who runs it (a fixed rule, an AI model or a person), the systems it connects, the tools that can run it and how big a build it usually is. You can build from it yourself or send it to us.

Can I build these automations myself?

Often, yes. Smaller recipes fit your platform’s own automation or a workflow tool such as Zapier, Make or n8n, and each recipe says which levels fit. Workflows with many exceptions, high volume or several systems that must agree usually need custom code. Either way, keep the person checkpoints the recipe lists.

Do these automations use AI?

Only where a step needs judgment on messy input, such as reading a PDF purchase order or sorting a free-text email. Every step is labelled, so you can see which steps run on fixed rules, which use an AI model and which stay with a person. Rules check a model’s output before anything is written to your systems.

Who owns an automation you build for us?

You keep your accounts, your data and the custom code we build; the Growth OS base is licensed to you. The automation runs on your own accounts and systems.

How do I get a recipe built for my business?

Send the workflow through the project brief on our workflow automation page or at the end of any recipe. A person replies within 2 business days with a written plan: what to automate, which tool fits, what stays with your team, the timeline and a fixed price.
