Ecomsellertool vs stacking SaaS tools like Helium 10 and Jungle Scout
Updated · Ecomsellertool
A SaaS stack such as Helium 10, Jungle Scout, a repricer and a PPC platform is the quickest way to start, since each tool works today for a monthly fee. It gets harder as a brand grows: fees step up with seats, tracked products, sales or order tiers and ad spend, and each tool typically syncs its own copy of your data. Stay on SaaS while you are early or Amazon-only. Move to Growth OS, deployed on your own accounts, when the stack spans many tools, channels and people.
- Helium 10 lists Platinum at $129 a month, or $99 a month billed yearly, and Diamond at $359 a month, or $279 a month billed yearly; Enterprise starts at $1,499 a month billed annually.
- On Diamond, Helium 10 charges 2% of any ad spend you run through Helium 10 Ads; Teikametrics Advanced adds 3% of ad spend above $10K a month to a custom base price.
- Jungle Scout Catalyst costs $348, $588 or $1,548 a year billed annually. Starter is limited to one user; extra seats on the other plans cost $49 a month, or $459 a year on annual plans.
- Amazon's Automate Pricing comes at no extra cost with the Professional selling plan, with rules based on the Featured Offer, lowest price, lowest external price, sales volume or business pricing.
- Each third-party app a seller connects is authorized separately, and the seller can disable any app's SP-API authorization from Manage Your Apps in Seller Central.
- Growth OS runs on the brand's own accounts; custom modules are scoped with a fixed price and go-live date, and everything built for the brand is theirs.
| Dimension | Ecomsellertool | A SaaS tool stack |
|---|---|---|
| How you pay | An engagement: Growth OS deployed on your accounts, custom modules scoped in an architecture doc with a fixed price and date | A subscription per tool, monthly or annual, often with seat, usage or ad-spend meters |
| How cost grows | New custom work is scoped and priced per module; base license terms on request | Steps up with seats, tracked products, orders, sales tiers or a percentage of ad spend |
| Getting started | Free Quick Scan or paid Deep Diagnostic, then a scoped deployment | Self-serve sign-up; many tools offer a trial or money-back window |
| Where your data lives | One data layer on your own accounts and infrastructure | Typically a separate copy in each tool, each under its own SP-API or Amazon Ads API authorization |
| Custom workflows | Built as custom modules and AI agents on top of the base system | Limited to each vendor's features, settings and roadmap |
| Market-wide research data | Not the focus; keep a research subscription if you need it | A core strength: category-wide keyword and sales estimates |
| Marketplaces | Integrations shipped for 20+ marketplaces, in one system | Varies by tool and plan; several focus on Amazon |
| Ownership | Everything built for you is yours; the base is licensed to you | You rent access for as long as you pay |
| Best fit | Multi-channel brands whose operations span many tools and people | Early or Amazon-only brands with standard workflows |
Many Amazon brands do not choose a SaaS stack so much as collect one: a research tool in year one, a repricer when competition shows up, a PPC platform when ad spend gets serious, then profit analytics and a reimbursement service. Each purchase makes sense on its own. This page covers what the stack costs at list price, where it leaks, and when it is still the right answer.
What does a typical Amazon SaaS stack cost?
Prices below are the vendors' published list prices on 24 September 2026. They change often, so check the vendor page before you buy.
| Job | Example tool | Public list price | What makes the bill grow |
|---|---|---|---|
| Research, listings, all-in-one | Helium 10 | Platinum $129/mo, or $99/mo billed yearly; Diamond $359/mo, or $279/mo billed yearly | Seats, tracked ASINs, 2% of PPC spend managed in Helium 10 Ads on Diamond |
| Research, product tracking | Jungle Scout Catalyst | $348, $588 or $1,548 a year, billed annually | Extra seats at $49/mo or $459/yr (not on Starter), tracked products; Cobalt is custom-priced |
| Repricing | Aura | $37/mo (Starter) to $237/mo (Pro), billed annually | Monthly sales tiers from $15K to $1M, marketplaces, seats |
| PPC software | Teikametrics | Essentials $179/mo, or $149/mo billed annually, up to $10K ad spend | 3% of ad spend above $10K a month on Advanced |
| PPC software | Perpetua | $695/mo up to $10K ad spend | Above $10K, $695 plus a percentage of ad spend |
| Profit analytics | sellerboard | $19 to $79/mo billed monthly | Orders per month, from 3,000 to 50,000 |
| FBA reimbursements | GETIDA | From 20% of amounts recovered | The size of your recoveries |
None of these prices is unreasonable for what the tool does. The issue is what happens when several of them run side by side for years.
Where does subscription creep come from?
Almost every line in that table has a meter, and the meters track your growth:
- Ad-spend fees. At $40,000 a month managed through Helium 10 Ads, the 2% fee is $800 a month on top of the plan. On Teikametrics Advanced, the same spend adds 3% of $30,000, or $900 a month, plus a custom base price.
- Seats. Four extra Jungle Scout users add $196 a month on monthly billing, or $1,836 a year on an annual plan. Hiring shows up in the software bill.
- Volume tiers. Repricer and analytics plans step up with monthly sales or order count, so a good quarter moves you into a higher tier.
- Overlap. Features such as keyword tracking or inventory management can turn up in two tools at once, and duplicates are easy to miss.
What are data silos, and why do they cost money?
Each app you connect is authorized separately: through SP-API for orders, inventory and financial data, and through the Amazon Ads API for advertising. You can disable any SP-API app from the Manage Your Apps page in Seller Central. Each tool typically keeps its own copy of the data, with its own sync schedule and its own definition of profit.
The cost appears where decisions need two datasets at once:
- When ads and inventory run in separate tools, nothing ties the ad budget to stock cover, so a campaign can keep spending on a SKU that will stock out in nine days. That is the inventory-aware ad spend gap. Helium 10 Diamond and Teikametrics bundle ads with inventory features, which narrows this gap on the channels they cover.
- Repricers, Amazon's included, guard margin with a minimum price per SKU. If that floor does not track landed cost, a freight increase can leave the repricer chasing the Featured Offer below margin.
- When the analytics tool and the ad platform calculate profit and ACoS from different data, someone ends up exporting CSVs to reconcile them.
When is a SaaS stack the right choice?
Often. The clearest cases:
- You are early or Amazon-only with a small catalog, a team of one to three and standard workflows. Subscriptions are the cheapest way to get working software today.
- You need market-wide research data. Sales estimates for a whole category are built by the research vendor, not pulled from your own accounts.
- Amazon's own tools cover the job. Automate Pricing comes at no extra cost with the Professional selling plan and supports rules based on the Featured Offer, lowest price, lowest external price, sales volume and business pricing.
If that describes you, stay on SaaS and revisit the question when the stack or the team grows.
How does Growth OS replace the operational layer of the stack?
Growth OS is a base system Ecomsellertool deploys on your own accounts. It is built to run listings, catalog and pricing sync, orders and shipping, inventory and replenishment, warehouse and 3PL operations, margin-aware advertising, FBA reimbursements, reviews and reporting, on one data layer.
That changes a few things in practice:
- One copy of the data. Ads, pricing and replenishment are designed to read the same stock, cost and margin figures, so the ad engine can ease off a SKU the inventory plan flags.
- Custom work where your operation differs. A supplier-email agent that updates PO dates, a feed for your 3PL, or rules for a wholesale channel are built as modules on the base, scoped in an architecture doc with a fixed price and go-live date.
- Ownership. Everything built for you is yours, and the base is licensed to you. The reimbursements module, for example, is built to find claimable lines in your own data; see FBA reimbursements.
The base comes from systems we have shipped: Seller7, a multi-marketplace seller OS used by 700+ sellers across 20+ marketplaces; Amazify, margin-aware ad metrics and agents; and Grow8, AI listing agents that audit, rewrite and publish listings. If you are weighing a hire instead, see Ecomsellertool vs an in-house team, and for the general question, build vs buy seller software.
Which parts of your stack are worth keeping?
The free Quick Scan in the Ops Gap Diagnostic finds your top three operations gaps from standard Amazon reports, with a yearly dollar estimate for each. The paid Deep Diagnostic covers every gap across your channels and shows what Growth OS would switch on and what would be custom. Which subscriptions stay is settled when we scope the build. To see the base system itself, start with Growth OS.
Frequently asked questions
What are some good alternatives to Helium 10?
For product and keyword research, Jungle Scout is a common alternative with a similar research and keyword toolset. If what you need is operations (inventory, orders, ads, reimbursements and reporting across marketplaces), a system deployed on your own accounts, such as Growth OS, is a different model rather than another subscription.
What's better, Helium 10 or Jungle Scout?
Jungle Scout is cheaper to start: Catalyst Starter is $348 a year billed annually, against $1,188 a year for Helium 10 Platinum at $99 a month billed yearly. Helium 10 Diamond, at $279 a month billed yearly, adds Helium 10 Ads and full profit and loss reporting, and raises inventory management from 40 SKUs to 500. Then check the limit you will hit first: Jungle Scout Starter tracks 50 products for one user, and Helium 10 Platinum allows 100 keyword discovery searches a month and one added user.
Is it better to build or buy Amazon seller software?
Buy when the job is standard and the vendor's data is the value, as with market research. Build or own when the workflow is specific to your operation, when metered fees grow faster than your margin, or when decisions need data from several tools at once.
Is Growth OS a SaaS subscription?
No. It is the base system Ecomsellertool deploys on your own accounts and infrastructure as part of an engagement. Custom modules built for you are yours, and the base is licensed to you with terms on request.
Can I keep some of my SaaS tools alongside Growth OS?
Yes. Each app authorizes separately on your seller account, so a research tool can keep running next to Growth OS. Which subscriptions the base system replaces and which still earn their fee is settled while we scope the deployment.
