Marketplace expansion for Amazon brands: Walmart, TikTok Shop, Target Plus and more
Updated · By Ecomsellertool editorial team
Ecomsellertool is a tech agency that helps Amazon brands expand to Walmart, TikTok Shop, Target Plus, eBay and Wayfair on their own seller accounts. We map your Amazon catalog to each marketplace, publish stock from one shared pool, route orders to Amazon MCF, your 3PL or the marketplace's own fulfillment, and track seller standards on the same system that runs Amazon. You stay the seller.
- We have shipped integrations for 20+ marketplaces, including Walmart, TikTok Shop, Target Plus, eBay, Wayfair and Temu, named in our Ecom Global and Seller7 case studies.
- Walmart asks new sellers for a business tax ID (SSN not accepted), marketplace or ecommerce history, GTINs and fulfillment through WFS or a US warehouse with returns (checked September 25, 2026).
- Target Plus is invite-only. Target shares next steps within 30 days of an application, and sellers integrate through an approved Channel Partner or a dedicated US-based in-house team (checked September 25, 2026).
- Amazon announced multichannel tools in Seller Central on September 24, 2026 for eBay, Shopify, TikTok and Walmart accounts, rolling out gradually to US sellers at no additional cost.
- We never buy inventory or sell under our own accounts. You keep your accounts, your data and the custom code we build; the Growth OS base is licensed to you.
In our experience, the hard part of adding a marketplace is rarely the application. It is the second month, when the new channel runs beside Amazon on spreadsheets: listings copied by hand, stock updated once a day, orders keyed into a 3PL portal and tracking pasted back. We build each new channel into the same system that runs your Amazon business, on your own seller accounts, so Walmart or TikTok Shop starts as a configuration job rather than a second operation to staff.
Which marketplace should an Amazon brand add next?
Pick the channel whose buyers, rules and fulfillment fit the catalog and stock you already have. The table compares the five marketplaces covered in the checklist below, plus Temu, using each marketplace's own pages (checked September 25, 2026 unless noted). Each name links to our guide with the fees, requirements and timelines in full.
| Marketplace | How you get in | Usually fits a brand that | Plan for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Walmart | Self-serve sign-up, then Walmart verifies the business. No setup or monthly fee, and a referral fee on each sale, per Walmart's pricing page | Sells everyday products with GTINs and can ship from WFS or a US warehouse | A second catalog in Walmart's item format, and its own seller standards |
| TikTok Shop | Registration as a US business; brand authorization for some trademarked products | Has products that show well on video and margin left for creator commissions | Demand spikes that draw on the stock serving Amazon |
| Target Plus | Invite-only: you apply and Target reviews the assortment | Has a curated assortment and US stock that ships within 24 business hours | A Channel Partner, unless a US in-house team integrates directly |
| eBay | Business account registration | Has a broad catalog and wants another open marketplace next to Amazon | Titles and item specifics rewritten for eBay |
| Wayfair | Supplier onboarding; Wayfair sets the retail price | Sells furniture, decor or other home goods | Pricing by base (wholesale) cost; Net 60 payment, or 30 days for a 2% fee |
| Temu | Online application; Temu's Seller Center says applications are normally reviewed within one business day | Can compete on price without undercutting its own Amazon offers | Price floors shared with every other channel |
For most US Amazon brands with GTINs and stock in the US, Walmart is the natural second channel: sign-up is self-serve, there is no monthly fee, your Amazon sales history gives Walmart the marketplace track record it asks about, and most of the catalog matches across by GTIN. TikTok Shop comes next when the product demonstrates well on video. Target Plus depends on an invitation, so apply early and keep building elsewhere while Target reviews. A new country is a separate decision; our global expansion guides cover Canada, Mexico, the UK and others, and the full list of channels is on the marketplaces hub.
What does a marketplace launch include?
Every launch covers the same eight pieces of work, whichever marketplace you add. Only the connector and the channel's rules change.
- Readiness check. Which SKUs have GTINs, stock in the right place and a healthy contribution margin after the new channel's fees.
- Account application. You apply in your company's name; we prepare the catalog data and the answers the marketplace asks for.
- Catalog mapping. Amazon titles, attributes and images mapped to the new marketplace's categories and required fields, matched to existing items where they exist.
- Pricing rules. A price floor per SKU built from landed cost, marketplace fees and fulfillment, checked against your other channels before anything goes live.
- Stock sync. One shared pool across FBA, your warehouse and your 3PL, with a buffer per channel.
- Order routing. Each order sent to the right stock location, with tracking written back to the marketplace. See order routing.
- Ads and seller standards. The new channel's ad data and performance metrics on the same screens as Amazon's.
- Reporting. Sales, fees and margin per SKU and per channel, every day.
If you want to see how that work lands on your team's week before you commit, read our post on selling on more marketplaces with the team you have.
The launch checklist, marketplace by marketplace
Each entry requirement below comes from the marketplace's own page, checked on September 25, 2026 unless a different date is given. Marketplaces change these rules, so we check them again at the start of every launch.
Walmart Marketplace
Entry requirement. Walmart's seller registration guide lists a business tax ID or business license number (an SSN is not accepted), documents that verify your business name and address, a history of marketplace or ecommerce success, GTINs from a GS1 company prefix, a catalog that meets its Prohibited Products Policy, and fulfillment through Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) or another US warehouse that handles returns. Items without a product ID need a GTIN exemption from Walmart (checked September 25, 2026).
What we connect. Item setup from your Amazon catalog, matched by GTIN where the item already exists on Walmart; prices from your per-SKU floors; stock from the shared pool, with WFS stock read back; order acknowledgment, routing and tracking; and Walmart's seller-standards metrics. The build notes are on our Walmart Marketplace API integration page.
What you provide:
- The application, in your business's name, with your tax ID and verification documents
- GTINs for every SKU you plan to list, or an approved GTIN exemption
- A fulfillment choice per SKU: WFS, your US warehouse or 3PL, or Amazon MCF
- A price floor per SKU, or the margin target we set floors from
TikTok Shop
Entry requirement. TikTok's guide on how to register as a corporation or partnership asks for a primary business address in the United States, an EIN, details of each ultimate beneficial owner, bank account details and unexpired ID documents that match what you enter (page dated May 13, 2026). Listing some products that carry registered trademarks also needs brand authorization. A trademark owner enters its USPTO registration number, TikTok emails a code to the trademark's official contact, usually the attorney on record, and pending trademarks are not accepted (page dated September 10, 2026).
What we connect. Your Amazon catalog mapped to TikTok's categories and required attributes, a buffered sellable quantity per SKU, order import, and routing of seller-fulfilled orders to your 3PL or to Amazon MCF, with tracking written back to TikTok. Amazon lists MCF as a supported fulfillment solution for TikTok Shop and tells sellers to give TikTok a return address they control, not an Amazon warehouse, because MCF returns go to several sites (checked September 25, 2026).
What you provide:
- The registration, in your business's name
- Your USPTO registration number, with the trademark's contact of record up to date so TikTok's code reaches you, or a letter of authorization for brands you resell
- A return address you control: your warehouse, your 3PL or a returns partner
- The SKUs that launch first, and the stock you will set aside for creator samples
- The minimum days of cover to protect on Amazon before TikTok gets any stock
Target Plus
Entry requirement. Target calls Target Plus an invite-only platform. Its eligibility checklist asks for a W-9, DUNS, EIN and a U.S. physical commercial business address that matches the W-9 and your IRS record, and says sole proprietorships are not eligible. Every product needs a GS1-certified UPC, and orders must ship from the U.S. within 24 business hours on a 5-business-day total transit with an approved carrier: the checklist names UPS, USPS and OnTrac, while the application form names FedEx instead of OnTrac. Target says it shares next steps within 30 days of an application (checked September 25, 2026).
What we connect. Target's service providers page offers two routes: an approved Channel Partner, or direct API integration. Direct integration needs a dedicated US-based in-house team that builds the feeds within 30 days and maintains them; contract or temporary developers do not qualify, and API credentials must stay with your employees. So an outside team like ours cannot be your direct integrator, and we are not a Channel Partner. We connect Growth OS to the Channel Partner you choose: validated item data, US stock, order status and a ship-by clock on every order. The application form also rules out competitor fulfillment services, so Target Plus orders ship from your own warehouse or 3PL.
What you provide:
- Your application, and Target's go-ahead to onboard
- W-9, EIN, DUNS and a US commercial address that matches your W-9 and IRS record
- GS1-certified UPCs on every item
- A contract with an approved Channel Partner, unless your own US-based team qualifies for direct integration
- US stock and carrier accounts that can meet the 24-business-hour window
eBay
Entry requirement. eBay's seller registration page asks a business for its legal business name, EIN, a physical business address (PO boxes aren't accepted), identification for stakeholders such as beneficial owners and directors, and a checking account in the same business name as the eBay account (checked September 25, 2026).
What we connect. Listings built from your Amazon catalog, with titles and item specifics rewritten for eBay's categories; price floors; stock from the shared pool with an eBay buffer; order import; and tracking sent back as soon as the fulfiller returns it. Fees and listing rules are in our eBay guide.
What you provide:
- A business account and a business checking account in the same name
- Product identifiers for each SKU, and which variations to group into one listing
- The payment, return and shipping policies you want to offer
Wayfair
Entry requirement. Wayfair runs a supplier program. Wayfair's beginner's guide says you set a base cost per product, Wayfair sets the retail price, and shipping is billed to Wayfair's FedEx, LTL or White Glove accounts; you are paid Net 60, or within 30 days for a 2% fee. Its onboarding checklist asks for legal business information and IDs, at least one warehouse or 3PL address in your selling region that can ship direct to customers, three or more images per product at 1000×1000 px or larger, detailed specs including wholesale cost, and a choice of Portal or EDI/API for orders, inventory and tracking. A certificate of insurance follows soon after onboarding (checked September 25, 2026).
What we connect. Product specs built from your master catalog, a base cost per SKU from landed cost and your target margin, inventory updates per warehouse, Wayfair orders pulled and acknowledged, ship notices with tracking, and any CastleGate stock planned alongside FBA and your 3PL.
What you provide:
- Legal business details, banking details for your selling region and a certificate of insurance
- A warehouse or 3PL in the selling region that can ship direct to customers
- Full product specs, carton data and images for each SKU
- The margin you need, so we can set base costs Wayfair's retail price can sit on
How does the new channel run on the same system as Amazon?
Every marketplace we add plugs into one product record per SKU, one stock pool and one order flow on Ecomsellertool Growth OS. The pattern comes from the Ecom Global platform, which we built for 100M+ products, 20+ marketplaces and 13+ carriers. There we designed a marketplace abstraction layer, so each connector handles its own credentials, rate limits and order lifecycle while the catalog, pricing and stock rules stay shared. Adding a channel became a configuration job, not an engineering project.
Stock is where a second channel usually hurts first. We keep one ledger across FBA, your warehouse, your 3PL and marketplace-run fulfillment such as WFS, publish a buffered quantity to each channel, and lower it when Amazon days of cover drop. Without that, one busy TikTok week or Walmart promotion can push your Amazon listings into a stockout.
Orders go wherever the stock and the marketplace's rules allow. Amazon says Walmart orders can ship through MCF in blank boxes with Amazon Logistics blocked as a carrier, and that it is waiving the usual 5% surcharge for blocking Amazon Logistics until January 14, 2027 (Amazon Supply Chain Services, checked September 25, 2026). TikTok Shop orders can also ship through MCF. Target Plus orders go to your own warehouse or 3PL, and Wayfair orders to yours or to Wayfair's CastleGate network.
Carriers, warehouses, routes and routing rules configured in one place
Read the Ecom Global case study ↗The screen above is the Shipping Master we built for Ecom Global, where carriers, warehouses, routes and routing rules are set in one place. Seller7, a multi-marketplace seller OS we built, puts Amazon, Walmart, Target Plus, Shopify and Mirakl orders in one queue. Ads and reporting follow the same pattern: for IVCSR we built sales, inventory, order and campaign management across Amazon and Walmart in one interface.
Most of this runs on fixed rules you set: price floors, stock buffers, routing and ship-by checks. Where rules are not enough, we add AI agents that work within the limits you approve. A listing and catalog agent uses a language model to draft each channel's titles and attributes, then sends them to your team before anything is published. A multichannel operations agent uses a demand forecast to size stock buffers when a video or promotion spikes sales, and drafts customer or 3PL messages for your team to approve.
Amazon now builds part of this into Seller Central. Its multichannel selling tools, announced September 24, 2026 and rolling out gradually to US sellers at no additional cost, connect eBay, Shopify, TikTok and Walmart accounts, import and link listings, show their orders and fulfill across channels (checked September 25, 2026). If those channels and fulfillment through Amazon cover your needs, use it. Your own layer earns its place when you sell on channels Amazon does not connect yet, such as Target Plus or Wayfair, when orders ship from a 3PL or your warehouse by your own routing rules, or when you want the data in a system you control. Our post on the change goes through the details.
How long does a launch take, and what do you need to provide?
Two clocks run in parallel: the marketplace's approval and our build. These are the marketplaces' own statements about their part, checked on September 25, 2026.
| Marketplace | What the marketplace says about timing |
|---|---|
| Walmart | Business verification takes from a few minutes to two business days, and account setup can take up to four hours after you add inventory (Walmart) |
| Target Plus | Target reviews an application and shares next steps within 30 days of submission (Target) |
| Wayfair | With the checklist items ready, most suppliers finish onboarding in a few days; without them, it may take 2 to 3 weeks (Wayfair) |
| Temu | About 10 minutes to complete the application; applications are normally reviewed within one business day (Temu) |
Our part is scoped in an architecture doc with a fixed price and go-live date, which you approve before work starts. The date depends on how many SKUs you launch, which fulfillment routes each channel uses and which outside systems, such as a 3PL or ERP, have to connect. We can start the build while the marketplace reviews your application, so the catalog, prices and stock rules are ready when the account opens.
From you, a launch needs:
- The seller application in your company's name, with your tax ID, documents and ID
- Access to your Amazon data through Amazon's official Selling Partner API, and to the new account through the marketplace's own app authorization
- Your fulfillment plan and the contacts at your 3PL or warehouse
- Decisions on which SKUs launch, price floors, stock buffers and who approves what
- A few hours with the people who run operations today, so the rules match how you work
Who owns the seller account, listings and data?
You do, from the first day. Each marketplace verifies the business behind the account, so the account is opened in your company's name and stays there. We do not buy inventory or sell on your behalf. We deploy Ecomsellertool Growth OS on your own marketplace and ad accounts and connect through each marketplace's official APIs, with access you grant and can revoke. For Walmart, see how app connections work after the Delegated Access change.
You stay the seller of record, set your prices and keep the retail revenue. You keep your accounts, your data and the custom code we build; the Growth OS base is licensed to you. If you stop working with us, your listings and selling history stay put: your accounts, data and custom code stay with you, and the Growth OS base continues under its license terms. That is the difference from a reseller accelerator, which buys your stock and sells it on its own accounts; our comparison of Pattern and its alternatives sets out both models.
Which marketplaces have we built integrations for?
We have built on Amazon's seller APIs since 2017 and have shipped integrations for 20+ marketplaces. Each one is named in a case study you can read, and the table shows where. If Amazon is most of your revenue today, our page for Amazon-first brands shows where these launches usually fit in the wider plan.
| Where the build is documented | Marketplaces named |
|---|---|
| Ecom Global | Amazon, Walmart, Shopify, eBay, TikTok Shop, Etsy, Temu, SHEIN, Wayfair, Newegg, Noon, Mercado Libre, Flipkart, Meesho, Lazada, OnBuy, Faire, Bonanza, Fruugo, Mirakl |
| Seller7 | Amazon, Walmart, Target Plus, Shopify, eBay, Mirakl |
| IVCSR | Amazon and Walmart, including advertising |
Who else helps Amazon brands expand, and when is another option better?
We are one of several kinds of help, and for some brands another kind fits better. Where a provider or marketplace is named, the description comes from its own page, checked September 25, 2026. Amazon's own multichannel tools, covered above, are a sixth option.
| Option | What it offers | The better choice when |
|---|---|---|
| Full-service marketplace agency, such as 595 Agency | "Amazon, Walmart & TikTok Shop Services for US Brands," with services "managed by dedicated account managers, designers, and advertising specialists," working with "5-10 US brands at a time" | You want a team to run listings, ads and account management for you day to day |
| Marketplace acceleration agency, such as Front Row | "Runs the full marketplace ecosystem as a single integrated system," spanning Amazon (1P, 3P and hybrid), TikTok Shop and Walmart | You want one outside partner to own media, content and operations across those channels |
| Walmart's Solution Provider Hub | In Walmart's words, "an ecosystem of trusted solution providers and agencies," plus the Walmart Marketplace App Store | You want a provider or app that Walmart lists in its own directory |
| A Target Plus Channel Partner | One of the two integration routes on Target's service providers page; the other is a dedicated US-based in-house team | You launch Target Plus without that in-house team: you need a Channel Partner, and we work alongside it |
| A reseller accelerator | Buys your inventory and sells it on its own accounts | You want someone else to fund the stock and run the channel |
Ecomsellertool helps Amazon brands expand to Walmart, TikTok Shop, Target Plus, eBay and Wayfair by building the operation behind each new channel on the brand's own accounts: catalog mapping, one stock pool, order routing, ads data and seller standards on Ecomsellertool Growth OS. We fit when you want the system that runs your channels, not a team that runs them for you.
Where should you start?
Start with the Amazon account the new channel will lean on. The free 24-hour diagnostic connects to Amazon with Login with Amazon, with no password shared, and sends a report within 24 hours of connecting, on business days. We only read data; we never change listings, prices, stock or ads. The report shows where your Amazon operation already leaks revenue, and a second channel that draws on the same stock and team makes those gaps bigger, not smaller. Or schedule a call and tell us which marketplace you are weighing, and we will walk through its checklist against your catalog.
Frequently asked questions
Can you open the Walmart or Target Plus seller account for us?
The account has to be opened in your company's name, because each marketplace verifies the business and the people behind it with your tax ID, documents and ID. We prepare the catalog data, the product answers and the fulfillment plan the application asks for, and you submit it. Walmart and Target decide who is approved; nobody can promise that outcome.
Will selling on Walmart or TikTok Shop take stock away from Amazon?
It can, if both channels draw on the same FBA inventory with no limits. We publish a buffered quantity to each new channel from one shared stock pool and lower it when Amazon days of cover fall, so a busy week on the new channel does not empty the stock your Amazon listings depend on.
Do you manage ads and creators on the new channel?
We build the ad data, rules and reporting that sit beside your Amazon advertising, as we did across Amazon and Walmart for IVCSR. Recruiting TikTok creators, shipping samples and running creator campaigns is people work. If you want a team to do that day to day, a full-service marketplace agency is the better fit, and it can work on top of the system we build.
Is Ecomsellertool a Walmart Solution Provider or a Target Plus Channel Partner?
No. As of September 25, 2026 we are not listed in Walmart's Solution Provider Hub, we have no app in the Walmart Marketplace App Store, and we are not a Target Plus Channel Partner. We connect your operation through official APIs on your own accounts, and for Target Plus we work alongside the Channel Partner you choose.
How is a marketplace launch priced?
Our part is scoped in an architecture doc with a fixed price and go-live date before work starts. The price depends on how many SKUs, marketplaces, warehouses and outside systems such as a 3PL or ERP have to connect. Marketplace fees, fulfillment fees and ad spend are separate and are paid by you to the marketplace or provider.
Can we start with one marketplace and add others later?
Yes, and most brands should. The first launch sets up the shared catalog, stock pool and order routing, so each later marketplace is mostly a new connector and a new set of channel rules on the same system.
